What We Do

We are a specialty shop that offers a unique and dynamic opportunity to purchase products from Black makers, creators, and artists in a well-curated environment. 

Who We Are

The Black Pantry is a premium brand shop that sources and curates quality products from Black-owned businesses across the nation. Our journey started in late 2020 as an opportunity to support Black businesses, and to provide respectable shelf space for Black products. At the time, there was a clear gap in the KCMO retail market regarding the marriage of a high-end shopping experience and a showcase of Black talent. With the pandemic peaking and the way forward untraveled, we got creative. We built a custom trailer and stationed ourselves outside of businesses with a similar reach. Our approach paid dividends, and six months later we opened our first location in the Heart of Kansas City, Midtown's Martini Corner. Since then, we have grown to host various events, pop-ups, and continued support to more Black businesses with over 200+ products carried.
